Open Positions

  • We are seeking a talented individual to join Morgan Structural, a boutique structural engineering firm in North San Diego County providing innovative engineering services since 2015. Morgan structural specializes in diverse projects spanning commercial, residential, and government sectors. As a Project Engineer, you'll collaborate closely with our Principal Engineer, gaining exposure to various building types and design materials. This position, based in Escondido, offers competitive compensation, flexible work hours, and potential for partial remote work based on experience.

    Job Duties:

    – Contribute to structural design, detailing, and drafting/BIM modeling for residential and commercial projects.
    – Conduct site visits and perform structural observations.
    – Address construction administration queries from contractors and architects.
    – Review and respond to municipal plan check comments.
    – Manage client and contractor communications, facilitating project team meetings.
    – Provide guidance to Intern team members as needed.

    Requirements:

    – Minimum of five years of industry experience, preferably holding experience with timber construction
    – Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus in Structural or Architectural Engineering.
    – Possession of a California Professional Engineer (P.E.) License.
    – Knowledge of wood, structural steel, concrete, and masonry design principles and current building codes.
    – Previous drafting experience is desirable; familiarity with Vectorworks drafting software and/or Revit modeling is a bonus.

  • We are seeking a talented individual to join Morgan Structural, a boutique structural engineering firm in North San Diego County providing innovative engineering services since 2015. Morgan structural specializes in diverse projects spanning commercial, residential, and government sectors. As a Structural Engineering Intern, you’ll provide remote support to the principal and project engineers and receive direct training and mentorship from a licensed Structural Engineer (SE). This three-month, remote internship may be extended and/or lead to a full-time position. Hours are part-time and flexible.

    Job Duties:

    – Review and respond to municipal plan check comments.
    – Address construction administration queries from contractors and architects.
    – Contribute to structural design and detailing for residential and commercial projects.
    – Provide drafting support to principal and project engineers.

    Requirements:

    – Completion of third year or higher for Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural or Architectural Engineering
    – Complete of ARCE 304 – Timber Design or equivalent course material is highly recommended
    – Knowledge of wood, structural steel, concrete masonry and current building codes is desirable
    – Previous drafting experience is desirable; familiarity with Vectorworks drafting software and/or Revit modeling is a bonus.

    Salary Range:

    $28-30
